NFL week 13

In week 13, the Packers and the Bears both get wins.  This still leaves Green Bay one game behind.  The west division teams in the league are starting to become .500 teams.  The Patriots and Jets game is tomorrow night.  That is one of the biggest games of the regular season.

The biggest game of the year for the Ravens and Steelers was tonight.  The Ravens were on top all game long.  Until 3 minutes left in the game did the Steelers score their only touchdown.  The Ravens came back to the Steelers 30 yard line.  On 4th and 2, Ravens Quarterback Joe Flacco under throws a pass to give the Steelers the ball back with under 40 seconds left in the game.  That is when I decided to turn off the game.  The Ravens are in second place in their division and hold a wild card spot as of right now.

It isn't looking good for the Packers.  They are 1 game behind the Bears and still are behind the wild card teams.  If the Eagles or the Giants lose next week and with a Packer win, the Packers will gain wild card spot.  The Falcons almost have locked up a playoff spot.  No other team in the NFC West will make it to the playoffs besides the division champion.

The NFL should change the rule about playoffs.  If a better record team doesn't make the playoffs because a mediocre team that barely wins their division sneaks in, that isn't fair to that team.  I think playoffs should mostly be based on conference standings instead of divisional standings. Just because a team wins their division doesn't mean that they deserve to go to the playoffs.

thanksgiving weekend

Thanksgiving is a day for family and friends.  This Thanksgiving was not.  The night before was very busy.  After 4 hours of picking my sister up and dropping her off at different places, my night was over.  Going to sleep around 4 and having to wake up at 9 to pick her back up from her friends is not my ideal morning.  I was late a minute and she was mad even though she didn't come out for another 10 minutes that I had to wait.  That was great.  Then when I come home, I get yelled at because we are now running late.  This is when I decide to skip Thanksgiving and go to bed.  Of course, I get yelled at again.  So my Thanksgiving was great.  I spent most of the afternoon with myself, mostly sleeping.  I spent more time with my friends than with my family that day.

Black Friday is just stupid.  Walmart is open all of the time but there is people getting trampled to buy a god damn T.V. or a stupid t-shirt, come on people.  People are the reason why I dislike many things.  If it weren't for those damn human beings, life would be much better.  Sometimes I wish I could just kill the idiots.  No one child policy, just make it legal to kill all of the stupid ones.  I never have shopped on black Friday and I never want to.  It is just rediculous.

All I did this weekend was watch football and played Black Ops.  It was very boring.  I spent one day with my family and that was not even on Thanksgiving.  I spent atleast 10 hours a day, every day just sleeping.  My life is boring.  I didn't get any hours at work, for the second week in a row.  I don't have school nor have basketball practice until later tonight.

Hopefully, Christmas will be better.  The month long break will be better for sure.  I know I have to work at 9 in the morning on New Years Day, great.  I am sick of work, school, and everything else.  Sometimes I wish I lived as a hobo.  I wouldn't be so stressed out all of the time.

Every team I like

A lot of people think that their favorite team always gets bad calls or always blame the refs for losing.  Well this week is different.  My favorite team is the Miami Heat.  They won 3 in a row and look great.  My second favorite team is the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL.  I cannot complain that the Ravens didn't win this week because they didn't even play.  Also the Packers defeated the Jets and the Saints beat the Steelers; my two teams I hate.  And the boring game of baseball was good last night.

The Heat are better than the Jets. The Heat are 3-1 while the Jets are now 5-2.  The Heat have one 3 in a row while the Jets just lost their second game.  Their offense doesn't look good, the coaching didn't look great, and Mark Sanchez threw two picks.  On the other hand, the Miami Heat have LeBron.  You cannot go wrong with LeBron James, besides Dan Gilbert.

The Packers and the Ravens are both in great shape in each of their conferences.  The Ravens are 5-2 along with the Jets and the Steelers.  The Ravens beat both teams.  The only team that's standing better are the Patriots and tied with the Chiefs. The Packers are great going into week 9.  The Vikings and the Redskins lost.  The Lions did win unfortunately.  The Pack is in the lead looking forward to playing the atrocious Cowboys who are 1-6.

This is one of the best sports newsweek in a while.  All of my favorite teams have won or had a bye this weekend.  I had my first basketball game and we blew out the Alumni 120-60ish.  All I need is to raise my grades and then i'll be happier.

4th and goal

A day late on this and a Philly loss.  Watching football is always fun, even if you don't like either team.  I like how the commentary always compliments the offense more than the defense.  It's like they try to bring them up so the media has something to write about.  I never use to see life like that.  Everything is a business, everybody wants money.  It seems as I get older, a lot of things become fake to me.  Sports is becoming one of them.  In the NBA, Tim Donaghy tried to fix games.  If that is going on in the NBA, then it could in the NFL.

QB Donovan McNabb of the Washington Redskins, formerly on the Eagles, had his comeback to ol' Philadelphia.  After 11 seasons with the Eagles, it was time for McNabb to move on; to a intradivisional rival.  His homecoming started with a standing ovation.  He didn't have his best game of his career but they still got the victory.

Little time left in the first half and Andy Reid calls a timeout.  After the brief meeting with the referees, Kevin Kolb, QB of the Eagles, came back on the field with :11 left on the play clock and he didn't have enough time left to go for a touchdown at the foot yard line.  A delay of game penalty was called and they decided to kick a field goal instead of a touchdown.  The score was 17-6 instead of a possible 17-10 going into half could have been the game decision of which team won.  Obviously that wasn't the only reason why they lost but that 4 points could have tied the game up.  Philadelphia wouldn't of had to go for a 2 instead of kicking the extra point.  It is tough when the referees have miscommunication with the scoreboard officials.

Football games are decided too much on officiating.  Most of it is because too many people blame the referees.  They are human like everyone else and coaches, players, and staff must remember that the ref and the clock work are two different things.  Like in the UFC, do not leave it in the hand of the judges.  If the Eagles would have came back and won, ESPN would not be talking about Andy Reid's awareness of the play clock.  It is fortunate that he takes all of the blame instead of giving it to the refs.  Washington called 2 of their 3 timeouts early in the second half and their last one with just under 20 minutes left in the game.  Nobody looked at that because they won the game.

Why the Miami Heat are better than the New York Jets in their sports

Many people think that a young quarterback, an asshole at cornerback, and an old running back makes a great team.  The New York Jets are the biggest bullshit I have ever seen since the Patriots coach Bill Belichick's cheating incident.  Why do the Jets suck?  They were suppose to be good this year.  They were suppose to win the superbowl.  They are suppose to be the best.  1-1 is not the best.  One win, I told you that they were good.  The Patriots, come on now. Reasons why they are not.  The Jets made the biggest mistake that you can in the NFL.  Going on HBO's Hard Knock's and not backing it up the first week of the season is a mistake. They couldn't beat the Ravens and they were suppose to be superbowl contenders.  If you cannot beat a team who scored 10 points on you, you must suck. Another thing, I think the best comeback team of the NFL is the Houston Texans, not the New York Jets.  The team has defensive secondary issues and wide receiver issues.  The running game is weak with only LT leading the way.  Shonn Greene had fumble problems and their future running back is a let down.  The season just began and so many players are disappointing the hype.

I am sick of teams thinking they are good when one thing could happen and the season is doomed from the beginning.  If Mark Sanchez gets injured, they will not have big problems.  They got Mark Brunell.  Give the lefty a shot.  He's forty, he's like Brett Favre, almost.  One thing Miami (Dolphins) has to do on Sunday is to get to Mark Sanchez's head and make him make mistakes naturally.  Knock his ass to the ground over and over again. Jim Leonhard is the only man making the Jets glue together partially on defense.  Cromartie is facing Brandon Marshall, one of the best in the league.  Revis is "out" again, probably holding out.

The main reason why the Miami Heat are better than the New York Jets is because the Miami Heat have more superstars per players than the New York Jets.  Out of the 15 players on a NBA roster, the Miami "Thrice" are not the only ones that have made it to an All-Star game.  LT, Jason Taylor are too old.  The only players that were in the Pro Bowl last year from the Jets are Thomas Jones, gone; Alan Faneca, gone; Darelle Revis, asshole cornerback; and Kris Jenkins, with one tackle this year.  Dwyane Wade and Lebron James have 6 NBA All-Star games each.  Chris Bosh has one less.  17 is a lot of All-Star games between 3 players just in their prime of their careers. Look at Eddie House, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, and Mike Miller.  Eddie House is a former NBA champion.  Z was on the All-Star team back in 2003 and 2005.  Mike Miller was the rookie of the year in 2001.  These players are better than the Jets roster.

The only chance that Miami will not win the championship next June is if they do not play as a team.  It is hard to think that would actually happen, since the 5 all star games they have all been on.  Remember the redeem team back in 2008? Yep, that was D-Wade, LBJ, and CB4 all on the same team again.  I think they will have no trouble trying to find the groove and the chemistry together.

Football in General

In my opinion, referees are too strict.  Football should be less like other sports.  Hockey has less protective penalties than does football.  Football should not have so many rules and insane penalties to protect certain players.  Kickers and quarterbacks should be football players too.  The rule was don't stop until the whistle blows and if a defensive player came in and knocked a quarterback down, that should be legal.

The NFL has too many rules to protect their players because if Peyton Manning gets hurt, nobody would get Mastercard or get #18 jerseys anymore.  Nobody likes players out of their prime.  Ladainian Tomlinson, for example, was the best running back in the league.  As soon as he stopped being a threat, his jersey sales went down dramatically.  The NFL, like any business, is all about money.  Quarterbacks are the NFL's number one position and if any quarterback would get injured over a roughing the passer, then they would lose money because usually football players are never the same after an injury.  Then the media has to come in and find another person to take his place.

Penalties should only happen when it is very obvious.  If a defensive end would knock over a quarterback after he passes it, he should be open game.  They are football players and shouldn't act like girls. The same goes for kickers and punters.  If a punter would get touched, he would fall flat to the ground, like there was an earthquake.  I think if a player does something like that, they should be the one penalized.

Rules haven't been the same since football has been a dangerous sport.  I think that it is more dangerous with equipment because cleats, facemask, and other solid equipment can cut up exposed skin and bruise fingers.  Sure, that is not worse than having a concussion or broken bone, but i think that a game of football with some friends will not result in those harsh injuries.  Playing football is not that dangerous, in my opinion.  It is more dangerous to play with equipment than without and the referees make a big deal of being safe than anything else.
